In Morocco this fabled spice blend represents the pinnacle of the Spicemaster’s art. Ras el Hanout means “Top of the Shop” in Arabic, and is a complex blend unique to each spice shop (just as Garam Masala is in India). Originally an aphrodisiac, containing such exotica as Spanish fly beetles and hashish, Ras el Hanout has evolved into an array of aromatic blends, each reflecting the particular taste of the Spicemaster and their respective clientele.
Our version of Ras el Hanout tones down the more extreme qualities but guarantees to put a twinkle in your eye with 16 spices. Dominant notes of allspice, cardamom, ginger and fennel seed balance beautifully with the subtle undertones of rose, lavender, nutmeg and Spanish saffron. Indulge your senses.
