Our Railway Chai combines carefully selected, fragrant whole spices that appeal to the eye as well as the palate. For a perfect cup of Chai we brew the spices along with our Organic Assam tea.
Satva, the Founder of Monsoon Coast, tells the story of his love for Railway Chai:
“I remember pulling into a railway station in Central India in the pre-dawn hours of a cold January morning. Back along the track there was a Chai Wallah, set up under a canvas tarpaulin, crowded with customers. He was serving a tea mixture, spicy warm with ginger and pepper, fragrant with cinnamon, cardamom and cloves in unglazed red clay cups. Standing there, hands warming around the cup, I knew I had found a friend for life.”

The best chai spices I have found.
I have been fortunate to enjoy many of the Monsoon Coast products, the spice blends are all extremely flavorful and the included recipes make memorable meals that we always enjoy. The Railway Chai holds a special place in my heart, the proportion of spices makes for a perfect cup of chai. Brewing a batch Railway Chai is part of my weekend ritual and something I look forward to. Excellent products, highly recommended!
