Durban is home to one of the largest populations of people of Indian descent outside of India. We’ve named this South African curry blend, Durban Curry, in honour of this city’s unique culture which blends African and Indian cooking sensibilities with outstanding culinary results. The blend delivers a good heat kick balanced with the sweetness of cardamom and aromas of other Indian spices. Using fruit, especially apricots, with your Durban Curry dishes brings out its full flavour.

A particular Durban take-away innovation is the Bunny Chow: The top of a loaf of bread is cut off and the insides are scooped out, leaving the walls thick enough to hold liquid. The hollow bread is then filled with your choice of curry, the top is replaced and away you go.
