Chinese Five Spice



A classic and ancient spice blend, the aroma of Chinese Five Spice dominates restaurants and shops throughout China and Southeast Asia where Chinese culture existed. While there is still some question about the exact origin of this blend, it is believed to have been created by traditional Chinese medicine to be a balanced powerhouse of health and flavour.

With cinnamon, cloves, fennel seed, star anise and Szechuan peppercorns, it adds a warm sweet fragrance and a slight zing to your dishes. It pairs wonderfully with pork, duck, vegetables, noodles or tofu. It makes a delicious marinade when combined with soy sauce and rice wine to spice meats or vegetables before grilling.
