Monsoon Balti is a versatile seasoning which can be used to zest up a wide range of dishes from fried rice to fish and vegetables.
Traditionally, Baltis are cooked in a cast iron pot, called a karahi. Hearty peasant stews, these one pot meals combine tomato, onion, garlic, and vegetables with our Monsoon Balti, an exotic blend of 14 different spices. Lamb, chicken and beef are commonly added to non-vegetarian versions. They are eaten with naan (pitas are fine) to scoop up the sauce and with a little yogurt or raita on the side. We enjoy some mixed Indian pickle to add a zesty additional flavor.
From the feedback we are getting, people are starting to keep a jar of Monsoon Balti close at hand while cooking and tossing a bit into whatever preparation needs a little oomph. This is what we call Guerrilla Cuisine.
