Durban is home to one of the largest populations of people of Indian descent outside of India and is famous throughout South Africa for it's spice market and fabulous curries. A particular Durban innovation, in the world of curry, is the Bunny Chow, an innovative take out. The top is cut off a loaf of white bread and the insides are scooped out, leaving the walls thick enough to hold liquid.
